Here is a beautifully intimate moment when a young Anangu man painted a Pirimpa (white) boy with traditional designs for a ceremonial dance. It was a bitterly cold night, and the white boy looked so vulnerable and seemingly out of place, and yet the painter so delicatley, sensitively and yet confidently applied the powerful motifs...It reminded me how much of Western culture has forgotten the essential beauty of uniting through ceremony and tradition, and that we have so much to learn from ancient cultures. Such meaning can be felt from such simple gestures.
