Artist's Comments

As an Artist, the quality of light, when shimmering on the threshold of darkness very much interests me. To convey the feelings of subtlety and intimacy reminds me of aspects of ritual, meditation, and communion with the Light. In 'The Gathering', I convey the fragile and ephemeral....and am reminded of the force we call 'will', and how the gentle aspect of its character is often denied with its coarser counterpart.

From one who holds light in her hands. Thank you for your eternal gifts.

like looking through the rain, or a mirror fogged over to see who's on the other side. Love this series.

Thankyou for your thoughtful words.
You use words powefully and beautifully.
This series is a lil' haunting and faraway now...
it was based on momentary experiences of crossing the veil
between this waking reality and the dream state.
Making Art served as a way of 'grounding' the ephemeral
nature of the experience, and help create that bridge to
strengthen the connection between dimension.
ps. i hope your teeth are feeling a lil' better now.

I understand very well what you mean about using art to ground with an experience. Though mine is differant in context, I believe the intention or compulsion is the same. I have severe post traumatic stress disorder and dissociative disorder and have used art and writing prolificly at times to try and take the experiences that caused that and find new ways to relate to them, or in some cases disassociate from them. Unfortionalty what I created in the process was dark and frightening enough to be anything but enjoyable to the viewer and subsequently I stopped creating them due to all the negative feedback I got from those who happened across them. Sometimes I wonder if that was a wise choice or not... but it is what it is. It is amazing though how much the act of creating from our sincere emotions and experiences can elicit such transformations inside of ourselves.

as for my teeth and sickness though, I am in fact feeling much better! :) thanks for the kind thoughts.
